Underground jazz venue Love, Velma announces fall 2024 schedule

Love, Velma, the Ellenville, NY social club focused on underground music performances, dance parties, and community-building, has announced its eclectic fall 2024 line-up, including indie artists Mates of State, Beccs, and Tagua Tagua, soul bolero group Miramar, jazz/funk groups Yamba Quartet and Juma Sultan’s Aboriginal Music Society, and the launch of a member’s only piano bar.

Owner and creative director Nick Gordon: “We’re ecstatic about our fall 2024 line-up thus far. Three years in, we believe a private, yet inclusive social club and live music experience in an intimate non-commercial space creates an unparalleled performance and listening environment. We continue to stretch our arms outside of traditional jazz and this fall’s line-up really leans into our eclectic taste. We’re featuring an incredibly special, 25-year touring indie band like Mates of State with emerging artist Beccs opening, Brazilian group Tagua Tagua, Woodstock ‘69 Jimi Hendrix alumni Juma Sultan, and perhaps what we’re most excited about is our weirdo take on the classic lounge-music “piano bar” format starting in October. Capacity allowing, membership is open to anyone who loves live music and memberships start at $25/year, a tiny fraction of what other social clubs charge.”
